Overview
To balance our
growing demand for electricity with the need to protect the environment,
all fuel sources will be required to play their proper role. Electricity
from coal must be an essential part of America's energy mix in the
21st century. Certain commodities are central to the quality of
our lives - electricity being among them. Access to affordable and
reliable electricity enables us to live in comfort and safety and
allows our economy to grow.
- Electricity
and food are the two largest commodities bought and sold in
America, with electricity sales amounting to more than $217
billion annually.
